“Heavyweight” was introduced to me by music producer Matt Wilder in Nashville which is where I do most of my songwriting and recording. The whole process of creating this track was a blast and a huge growing experience for me! I didn’t write this song, but as soon as I heard the demo I knew this song was going to be mine.
By working on it I found my true voice and it helped me learn how to create my own sound for my music. Creating the tracks for Heavyweight made me realize what I could do as an artist and what message I needed to say to the world. I loved working in Nashville because it is such an inspiring place to work. To be able to collaborate with other extremely talented songwriters and musicians who are so humble is a gift.
As an artist, I want to release music that promotes a positive message. I am all about empowerment and inclusivity which is why “Heavyweight” was the perfect debut single for me to release. The biggest message I want people to take away from this song is to keep going. By working on it I found my true voice and it helped me learn how to create my own sound for my music. Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself and stay true to who you are."
