Murphy presented the music world with his debut EP entitled “The Velvet Hue of You” mid-month. The alt-R&B artist took his groovy sounds to the next step with this release. The first singles, “Camomile” and “Take It” set the bar high, showing Murphy’s ability to pull together an array of instruments and beats to create a warm, immersive atmosphere for his listeners. The EP makes use of a lot of different techniques while it features Murphy singing, rapping, and doing spoken word. The limits to this EP reach towards the blue sky. His website reads “The record explores a collection of personal yet relatable lyrical themes, set to a musical backdrop of soul-soaked harmony and melody.”
