Live Music: White Reaper

The "world's best American band" White Reaper recently kicked off on their fall tour with support from Post Animal. Boston fans were lucky enough to get a taste of what the Kentucky locals have to offer when they stopped by Brighton Music Hall on November 9th. White Reaper have set a new standard for American rock n' roll, reviving the genre with their own flare on it. White Reaper vocalist and guitarist Tony, is a frontman to watch. Engaging with the crowd on a new level Tony performed for everyone in the room that night. He even ended the set in a crowd-surfing race against bassist Sam to the bar. The two took shots and the crowd carried - literally holding onto each member and running with them - back to the stage, where Sam came out the winner of the night. Keyboardist Ryan Hater (or MVP) had nonstop energy that night, jumping while playing the proper notes and giving a kick of the leg every now and then. White Reaper are groomed in a way that they don't seem groomed, yet they're perfect as a whole with each live song played sounding as sharp as the radio finishes. With retro sounds and the catchiness of nostalgic classic rock, White Reaper drew in a crowd of young and old listeners who moshed the night away with the intimacy of a 1960's basement gig.
